ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES
Oral contraceptives have been
implicated in contact lens
intolerance, increased corneal
thickness, corneal steepening,
and increased symptoms of
dryness. With the exception of
dryness there is little evidence
that oral conceptives have any
significant effect on contact lens
wear. Other causes of the
problems that might be thought
due to oral contraceptives, such
as lens design or fit, solution
sensitivity, coated lenses,
hygiene and other medications,
should be explored.
