  5. Oral contraceptives have been 
  6. implicated in contact lens 
  7. intolerance, increased corneal 
  8. thickness, corneal steepening, 
  9. and increased symptoms of 
  10. dryness.  With the exception of 
  11. dryness there is little evidence 
  12. that oral conceptives have any 
  13. significant effect on contact lens 
  14. wear.  Other causes of the 
  15. problems that might be thought 
  16. due to oral contraceptives, such 
  17. as lens design or fit, solution 
  18. sensitivity, coated lenses, 
  19. hygiene and other medications, 
  20. should be explored.
